New Appliances with Real-Time Correlation, PCI Alerting and Logging Deliver Simplified Security Information and Event Management for Mid-Size Data Centers, Branch Offices and Retail Stores
Cupertino, Calif. – June 2, 2008–ArcSight, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARST), a leading global provider of compliance and security management solutions that protect enterprises and government agencies, today announced three new appliances: ArcSight ESM E7100, ArcSight PCI Logger and ArcSight C1000. These appliances join the ArcSight Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Platform, an integrated set of products that collect, analyze and report on enterprise event information.
ArcSight ESM E7100 delivers industry-leading real-time event correlation on a single, easily deployed appliance. Designed for mid-sized enterprises that require multi-variable correlation and live dashboards, ArcSight ESM E7100 contains event analysis and storage capability on one 2U standards-based appliance.
ArcSight PCI Logger delivers self-tuning, cost-effective, long-term log storage; pre-built rules, reports and alerts mapped directly to PCI DSS requirements; and on-board event collectors, all on a single 1U appliance. Customers can expand ArcSight PCI Logger with external connector appliances, multi-variable correlation appliances and additional regulatory compliance solution modules. The product is designed for mid-sized organizations with a limited budget that require long-term log archiving, live alerting and drill-down and pre-built PCI compliance reports.
ArcSight C1000 is a new, affordable and easy-to-deploy event-collection appliance that meets the needs of satellite branch offices, stores and managed security service provider (MSSP) environments. The C1000 provides low-cost collection and secure log data transmission from branch offices, retail stores or similar distributed environments. Retail chains that need to collect data from in-store point of sale systems (POSS) for compliance reporting can deploy a C1000 for a very low cost to each store, with minimal administration. In addition, MSSPs looking for a low-cost, small-footprint appliance for audit-quality event collection can easily deploy C1000s into all of their customer environments.
All products work with the rest of the ArcSight SIEM Platform products, including ArcSight Data Center Connector Appliances, ArcSight Threat Response Manager and ArcSight Solution Modules. Each of the new appliances can be deployed alone, together or with other platform components.
“The ArcSight approach to event management now covers the spectrum from historical reporting to simple alerting to time- and frequency-based threshold notification to complex correlation, delivered in an appliance form,” said Rick Caccia, vice president of product marketing, ArcSight. “These new products provide different entry points to security information and event management for mid-market organizations with different deployment needs. As a result, ArcSight is better positioned to solve security and compliance monitoring needs across the business landscape.”
