The average enterprise faces about 300 network attacks every year while 10 percent of the organizations experienced more than 1200 attacks per year.
A recent study from IDC had respondents who indicated that losses from data breaches were equivalent to more than 75 percent of their costs for operating firewall architecture.
Firewall rules continue to grow and the larger the firewall rule set, the more complex rule management becomes, and the harder it is to keep rules current and to prevent gaps in the protection.
McAfee addresses these issues by enabling firewall protection that keeps up with the volume of today's threats and the changing application environments.
Earlier this month, McAfee released its next generation firewall with user behavior analysis and rule management. By investing in proper firewall solutions, organizations should be able to drastically cut the average yearly breach loss of more than one million dollars. |

Mr Eric Sorenson is the Enterprise Solutions Architect with McAfee based in the US. He had more than ten years' experience in the IT security industry having worked previously with Secure Computing and Internet Security Systems.
He had been involved in projects with large multinational companies and government agencies to secure their infrastructure against potential attacks, running penetration and social engineering testing, and delivering technical training courses on security products. He will be able to share the technology behind the Applications Defenses™ firewall and the latest features such as user behavior analysis and rule management. |
